Orediggers Squeak by Argos

Butte, Mont – In a hard fought battle, the Orediggers held off the Argos for a slim 58-57 victory.

Montana Tech (12-10, 3-5) defeats the Argos after losing another close matchup with the Frontier foe just six days prior.

The Argos (14-9, 5-4) drop their second straight game in as many days.

The score was tied at 41 with 12:41 to go in the game. Junior Bryan Bock would hit three consecutive baskets giving the Orediggers the lead for the rest of the game.

The Argos chipped away at the lead to pull within three points at 58-55 with just 28 seconds to play.

Adam Greger missed a free throw in bonus giving the ball back to Great Falls.

Marcel Towns would miss the three-point attempt with four seconds left. David Udadigbo would make an inconsequential last second two-pointer finishing one point short of a tie.  

Bock led all Orediggers with 21 points, nine rebounds and a pair of assists.

Greger netted 18 with five rebounds.

Dan Simon had 10 rebounds in addition to six points and four assists.

Marcel Towns led the Argos with 21 points, four rebounds and three steals.

The Orediggers host Carroll College tomorrow night at the HPER Complex after the women's game.
