BUTTE – Big plays by both teams was the theme of Saturday's contest, Eastern Oregon made a couple more than Montana Tech. The Oredigger took the loss 45-30.
Montana Tech (2-6) loses after putting up their second win of the season last week.
Eastern Oregon (3-5, 3-4) moves past the Orediggers in the conference standings.
Running back Chris McGinnis-Parker had a huge day for the Mountaineers gaining 208 yards on the ground on 24 carries.
His lone touchdown was an untouched 82-yard score that sealed the win in the fourth quarter.
Pat Hansen finished the game with 159 yards on 22 attempts. He scored one touchdown coming in the fourth quarter on a 50-yard run.
Freshman quarterback
Dawson Reardon was knocked out of the game in the third quarter after a couple tough hits from the Mountaineer defense. He fumbled the ball on the Tech four yard line and Faauiga Taala picked up the ball taking it in for one of two defensive touchdowns by Eastern Oregon.
Herman Tapley tried to make a game of it completing two touchdowns and throwing for 239 yards.
Alec Bray finished with eight catches for 190 yards.
Zach Kinney caught six passes for 44 yards and one touchdown.
James Roberts caught four passes for 79 yards and a score.
Linebacker
Mike Touzinsky has 14 total tackles in the game and three for a loss.
Jake Workman had eight tackles and two sacks.
Montana Tech is on the road next weekend when they travel to Havre for a night game with Montana State Northern.
