Dillon, MT- Despite a strong comeback in the second half the Diggers lost to Montana Western 20-14.
The Orediggers spotted Western two touchdowns in the first half, the first a Dylan Kramer two yard run, and the second a Tyler Hulse touchdown pass to Michael Lake. After missing two extra points the Bulldogs would take a 12-0 lead going into the half.
Early in the third quarter
Herman Tapley would find
Pat Hansen wide open in the end zone for a 23 yard touchdown making the score 12-7.
The Bulldogs would answer back right away with a Tyler Hulse 15 yard touchdown pass to Tyler Bergren. Western would go for the two-point conversion and get it with an AJ Smith pass reception extending the lead to 20-7.
Alec Bray would take a screen pass down the sideline for a 45 yard touchdown at the end of the third quarter to make it a 20-14 ballgame.
The Orediggers could not convert on fourth down with less than a minute to go on Western's 35 yard line.
Pat Hansen would finish the game with 73 rushing yards, 39 receiving yards, and a receiving touchdown for the Montana Tech.
Alec Bray would lead Montana Tech in receiving with 4 catches for 78 yards and a touchdown.
Western Running back Dylan Kramer rushed 32 times for 205 yards and a touchdown.
The Orediggers drop to 3-6 and will take on Southern Oregon University next week at home on "Bob Green Field". It will be Senior Day for Montana Tech. The game will start at 1 pm MST.
