Griffins Soar Past Diggers

BUTTE – Montana Tech could not get the momentum going in their favor against the Griffins Saturday afternoon losing in three straight sets. Westminster got their revenge from the early season loss defeating Tech 25-22, 25-22, 25-18.

Montana Tech (17-12, 7-9) finishes the regular season with a loss. The Lady Diggers are the sixth seed going into the postseason tournament.

Westminster (16-13, 10-6) has won five of their last six games finishing fourth in the standings.

Errors plagued the Diggers throughout the match finishing with 26 and a team hitting percentage of .037. The Griffins outhit the Diggers 41-31.

Freshman Jordan Danz led Tech with eight kills, but finished with a .067 hitting percentage.

Haley Druyvestein and Sydney Norris had seven kills each. Norris also had 14 digs in the match.

Kimmy Kavran had 26 digs to lead the defense.

Jovana Sisovic had 10 kills in the match while hitting .258.

Kyndall Kordakis led the Griffin defense with 30 digs.

Montana Tech heads to Great Falls next weekend for the Frontier Conference Tournament. The first round pairing will likely be Lewis-Clark State with the match taking place Friday.
