HELENA -- Three Montana Tech volleyball players garnered All-Frontier Conference accolades, the league office announced Wednesday evening at its pre-championship awards ceremony on the campus of Carroll College.
Right-side hitter Payton Treadwell earned the Frontier's newcomer of the year award in addition to second-team all-conference honors, and outside hitter Kinnidi Willmore claimed first-team accolades. Middle blocker Abby Clark landed an honorable mention.
Treadwell, a sophomore from Meridian, Idaho, totaled 220 kills and 43 blocks for the Orediggers over 96 sets played in her first season with the Orediggers.
Willmore, a senior from Claremont, Calif., landed her second-career all-conference award after spiking a team-best 304 kills to go with 64 digs and 34 blocks. The outside hitter tied for the team lead, playing in all 99 sets during Tech's regular season.
Clark, a graduate student from Fort Benton, hit a team-best .326 on the year. She accumulated 117 kills, 36 blocks, and 21 digs. Clark broke Montana Tech's single-match attack percentage in the Orediggers' home finale, a sweep of Carroll in which she hit .800.
Montana Tech carries a 16-12 record into the Frontier Conference tournament, where it will be the No. 5 seed in the eight-team bracket. The Orediggers take on fourth-seeded Dakota State Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in Carroll's PE Center.
