DILLON – The Orediggers fought to the end of the game, but couldn't get the final basket against the Bulldogs Thursday night. Tech falls short 59-58.
Montana Tech's (15-15, 6-10) chances for the Frontier Conference Tournament become very slim after the loss.
Western (21-8, 11-5) picks up their fifth straight win.
The Orediggers erased an eight point deficit at half time playing neck and neck down the stretch. The Bulldogs pulled ahead on a
pair of free throws with little time left on the clock.
Bryan Bock missed on a drive in the final seconds for the one point loss.
Western was dominant in the paint outscoring Tech 28-14.
Dan Simon led the Orediggers with 20 points and six rebounds. He shot 7 of 9 from the field and 5 of 8 from the free throw line.
Adam Greger had 18 points and four rebounds.
Jake Owsley led Western with a double-double netting 19 and grabbing 12 boards.
Montana Tech finishes the regular season at Westminster on Saturday night.
