No. 3 Westminster Rebounds Against Tech

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – No. 3 Westminster outscored Montana Tech 33-17 in the first half to propel them to a 61-42 victory in the regular season finale.

Montana Tech (16-12, 9-7) finishes the regular season in third place in the Frontier Conference. The Lady Diggers will host a first round conference game on Tuesday.

Westminster (25-3, 14-1) wins after losing their first conference game of the year on Thursday at Carroll College.

The Griffens hit 50-percent from the field in the first half to give them the 16 point lead going into the break.

The Diggers managed just 25-percent shooting in the first half and 30-percent in the game.

Westminster outrebounded Tech 37-29.

Devenny hit 5 of 12 for 14 points. She also had six rebounds.

Machinal had 13 points, four rebounds, two steals and two assists.

Nicole Yazzie led the Griffens with 18 points, five rebounds and five assists.

The Lady Diggers start the post season on Tuesday night at Kelvin Sampson Court. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
