BUTTE – The Lady Diggers season comes to an end at the hand of southern rival Montana Western Tuesday night 55-46.

Montana Tech (16-13, 9-7) falls a second time in less than a week to the Bulldogs and go 2-2 on the season against the rival.

Western (6-15, 7-9) moves on to face Carroll College on Friday in the semifinal round of the Frontier Conference Tournament.

The Orediggers committed 18 turnovers to just 10 by the Bulldogs.

Western outrebounded Tech 35-29.

Mandy Machinal led the Diggers with 14 points, six rebounds and an assist.

Kelsey DeWit returned from injury to score 10 points and grab seven rebounds.

Lisa Laslovich netted 11. She also had three rebounds and a pair of assists.

Sammi Bignell led the Bulldogs with 20 points, four rebounds and an assist.
