BUTTE, MT—Montana Tech just couldn't find a rhythm and couldn't find the nylon against the Argonaut zone defense falling 54-66.
Montana Tech trailed at the half by six points, 27-33, while shooting a bleak 36 percent from the floor and only 16 percent from behind the arc.
The Orediggers started out hot in the second half going on a seven point run to give Tech their first lead of the second half, 34-33. It would be their only lead of the second half.
Marcel Towns put up 24 points to lead all scorers while collecting seven caroms and five steals.
Adam Greger led the Diggers in scoring and on the glass with a 17 and seven performance.
Bryan Bock tossed in 12 points, grabbed six rebounds, and dished out four assists.
Montana Tech falls to 12-9 overall and 4-5 in the Frontier Conference while UGF improves to 15-8 and 6-4. The win was the 100
th career victory for Argonaut Head Coach Steve Silsby.
Tech has to bounce back quickly because they host Frontier Conference rival Carroll College tomorrow night at 7:30 p.m.
