Box Score BUTTE, Mont. – The Westminster Griffins slipped past the Orediggers 3-2 Saturday afternoon winning the final two sets 25-23, 19-25, 25-21, 25-27, 17-19.
Montana Tech drops to 9-11 overall and 4-4 in conference action.
Westminster improves to 8-11 and 2-4 in conference.
Tech led the fourth set by as many as eight when the Griffins began to surge. Westminster squeaked by Tech 27-25 to close out the set.
The fifth set went back and forth with the Griffins again taking the set in extra points 19-17.
Senior captain
Korey Krumm led the way for the Diggers with 18 kills and no errors. She finished the match with a .563 hitting percentage and two blocks.
Sydney Norris was the only other Digger in double-digits finishing with 12 kills. She also had 10 digs.
Annie Smoot had seven kills and four blocks.
Kimmy Kavran finished the match with 23 digs.
Alexis Aalona led the Griffins with 25 kills and a .396 hitting percentage.
Montana Tech is off next week and returns to action at the HPER Complex on October 16
th against the University of Great Falls.
