Dembek, Diggers Rout DSU 74-57

Box Score DICKINSON, N.D. -- Martha Dembek was feeling it Saturday night when she led the Lady Diggers to a 74-57 win over Dickinson State. Dembek, from Winnett, Montana, scored a career-high 17 points. The sophomore was a perfect 5-5 from three point land and 2-2 from the charity stripe. Dembek also collected eight caroms for Montana Tech.

The Lady Diggers shot 44 percent from the field and 43 percent from deep. Montana Tech held a 40-25 lead in the first half and forced 13 DSU turnovers in the ballgame.

In the post, Kayla DeWit notched 14 points and nine rebounds. Kabri Emerson and Callee Remsen chipped in eight apiece as well for Montana Tech. Sophomore starting guard Hattie Thatcher continued her assisting way against the Blue Hawks. Thatcher dished out a game high six assists for Montana Tech after recording nine assists on Thursday against College of Idaho.

The Lady Diggers improve to 2-0 on the season under first-year Head Coach Carly VanDyke. Montana Tech returns to action on November 14th when they take on Arizona Christian University at the Westminster Fall Classic Tournament in Salt Lake City.
