Women's Hoops Top Dickinson State, 67-60

Kayla DeWit had a game-high 20 points
Box Score BUTTE, Mont. – The Montana Tech picked up their fourth win on the season with a 67-60 victory over Dickinson State. With the win, the Lady Diggers improve to 4-1 on the season while DSU falls to 0-5.

The Lady Digger defense held the Blue Hawks to 27.7 percent from the field and outrebounded DSU 49-39. Tech shared the ball well as 17 of their 23 baskets were assisted.

The difference of the game was Montana Tech's bench as they outscored Dickinson 16 to 2. Kimi Heng came off the bench for a much need spark. Heng had six points, four assist and three rebounds all in the second half. Heng hit two crucial three pointers late in the half allowing Tech to hold on to the lead and the victory.

Transfer Kayla DeWit went 8-for-9 from the field on her way to lead all scorers with 20 points. Martha Dembek had her fifth double-double of the season with a 10 point 10 rebound performance. Senior Kabri Emerson had another solid performance with eight points and 11 rebounds.

Ashley Bentz and Lorna Shepherd led the way for the Blue Hawks with 18 points each.

The Lady Diggers head to Great Falls, Mont. for a non-conference matchup against Oglala Lakota College. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m.
