BUTTE, Mont. – Carroll College held off a late Tech rally downing the Diggers 61-53 Saturday night.
The Saints (12-9, 5-5) get back to winning after falling to Lewis-Clark State on Thursday. They have won three out of their last four.
The Diggers (8-9, 4-6) fall back below .500, but are still in the thick of the pack for the post season.
Freshman
Hattie Thatcher led the Diggers with 16 points and added four assists, two steals and two rebounds to her best night of the season.
Mandy Machinal, who passed 1,000 career points last night, netted 13 points. She also had two rebounds.
Sophia Baetz added 10 points from the bench hitting 2 of 4 from three late in the game.
Bailey Snelling led the scoring for the Saints with 14.
Montana Tech is on the road the next two weekends. The Diggers head to No. 17 MSU- Northern next Friday.
