Dawgs Hound Diggers

BUTTE – Montana Tech couldn't overcome a heavy first half deficit against Western falling 90-68.

The Orediggers (13-14, 5-10) are now mathematically eliminated from the post season for the second straight year.

Western (16-10, 9-6) completes the sweep of Tech for the year and their fourteenth consecutive victory.

The Dawgs were ot out of the gate hitting 9 of 18 from long in the first half and shooting 53.3 percent from the field for a 46-27 lead going into the break.

The Diggers hit just 4 of 11 from three and shot 36.7 percent from the field in the first frame.

Better shooting occurred in the second half for the Diggers, but it wasn't enough. Tech cut the lead to nine with 5:24 to go in the game. Western turned up the scoring again going on a 11-2 run to dash the Diggers chances.

Tech shot 49.2 percent from the field in the game, but hit just 7 of 18 from three.

Adam Greger netted 17 points and grabbed six rebounds in the game. He had three of the seven Tech three pointers.

Antonio Snow also had 17 points shooting 7 of 14 in the contests. He added five rebounds, an assist, a block and a steal.

Brandon Rydberg went 2-2 from three point land and finished the game with eight points.

Reigning Frontier Conference Player of the Week Bryan Bock was stifled by the Western Defense. He finished the game with six points, four rebounds, and a team high six assists. Bock needs 18 points against Westminster to hit the 1000
career point threshold.

The Dawgs were paced by Maazin Butler who had 23.

Montana Tech will finish the season this Saturday at 7:30 p.m. against Westminster.
