Offensive Notes

 4th and Go For It—  Montana Tech is having success converting on fourth down. The Diggers are second in the Frontier Conference in fourth down conversion rate converting on five of six attempts. One of the most important conversions was a 23 yard run for a first down by punter Travis Farewell against MSU-Northern two weeks ago.
 
Big Returns— Montana Tech is averaging 21.5 yards per kickoff return. Against MSU-Northern, Montana Tech return man Clay Cavender had three returns for 109 yards including a 42 yard return.
 
Braxton the Target— Braxton Lucero caught four passes for 27 yards and one touchdown against MSU-Northern. The Utah native has 10 catches on the season for 78 yards and a touchdown. Lucero is eighth in the Frontier Conference with his 10 total receptions.
 
Loudenback For More— Quarterback Andrew Loudenback found his groove and more against MSU-Northern throwing for 259 yards and three touchdowns as well as rushing for one more to seal the Oredigger victory. Loudenback is seventh in the Frontier Conference in total offense per game with 202.5 yards.

Defensive Notes

Vance Takes Em' Down—
Montana Tech defensive back Caleb Vance had seven total tackles against MSU-Northern including six solo take downs. Vance is fourth on the team with 10 total tackles.
 
Mike & Meis— Montana Tech linebackers Mike Touzinsky and David Meis lead the team in total tackles with 16 a piece. Meis has 12 solo tackles and five tackles for loss. Touzinsky has 10 solo tackles and one tackle for loss.
 
Defensive Strength— Montana Tech is third in the Frontier Conference in total defense giving up 368 yards per game. The  Orediggers are behind only MSU-Northern and Southern Oregon who have surrendered less yardage this season.
 
INT's in Pairs— Montana Tech's defense got its first two takeaways of the season against MSU-Northern. Andre Cornell and Zach Hulse, a Helena native, both picked off passes in the second half for the Digger defense. The interception was the fourth career takeaway for Andre Cornell.
 
Big Hit Matt— Matthew Neylan came off the bench to record five tackles for the Digger defense. Neylan had 3 solo tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss.
