Upset Falls Short

Box Score COSTA MESA, California – A last second three from Samantha Doucette foiled the upset bid by the Oredigger women's basketball team 59-58 against No. 3 Vanguard.

Doucette finished with 23 points in the game as Vanguard improved to 2-0.

Montana Tech (4-3) loses their second straight and first game in California. The Orediggers play two more games on the road trip.

The Orediggers took the lead 3-2 on a Shayla Mack three pointer and held the lead into the second half. Tech kept a slim margin in the third before the battle down the stretch.

Martha Dembeck paced the Diggers with 14 points hitting 4 of 7 from three point. She also had six boards.

Rachel Farris had 14 points and nine rebounds shooting 6 of 10 from the field.

Mack chipped in 10 points going 2 of 6 from beyond the arc.

Montana Tech faces Biola tomorrow night at 6 p.m. PST
