BUTTE, Mont. – Lewis-Clark State had the hot hand outrunning Montana Tech 84-58 in the Frontier Conference home opener.
The Orediggers went 8-for-23 from the field in the first half giving them a 44-29 deficit at the break.
The Warriors shot 55.2 percent from the field as a team and 53.3 percent from beyond the arc in the game. Their hot shooting was too much for the Diggers to overcome in the second half.
Senior
Paul Engstrom led the Diggers with 18 points and seven boards.
Jalen Coates was the only other Tech player to hit double digit scoring netting 10.
Jacob Wiley, Zavon Jackson and Doug McDaniel all had 13 points for the Warriors. Jackson went 6 of 7 from the field and McDaniel was 5 of 7 and 2 of 3 from beyond the arc.
Rich Tiesmer led the Warriors on the glass with nine boards.
Montana Tech travels to Arizona for the Chandler-Gilbert Classic December 17-19.
