Box Score CHANDLER, Ariz. – No. 4 Arizona Christian defeats Montana Tech 84-62 on the first day of the Chandler-Gilbert Tournament.

The Orediggers (5-7, 0-2) led by five with 6:13 left in the first half 28-23. Arizona Christian finished the first set with a 20-0 run to take a 43-28 lead into the break. Christian shot 55.6 percent from the field and scored 18 in the paint.

The lead was too much to overcome for the Diggers in the second half. The Orediggers completed 41.3 percent from the field in the game and just 5 of 17 from three. They finished the game with 28 turnovers.

Jalen Coates led Tech with 14 points and hit completed three of Tech's three pointers shooting 75 percent from beyond the arc.

Redshirt freshman Kale Guldseth had 12 points going 4 of 7 from the field.

Arizona Christian guard Brandon Newman had 22 points.

The Orediggers take on Benedictine University tomorrow at 6 p.m.
