BUTTE, Mont. – Montana Tech women's basketball team shot the lights out of the HPER Complex and made it look easy against No. 13 Lewis-Clark State Saturday night with an 83-57 victory.
The Orediggers (1-1, 5-8) snapped a seven game losing streak and get their first frontier win of the season.
Led by junior
Martha Dembek, the Orediggers hit a staggering 8 of 12 from three point range. Dembek was a perfect 5 of 5 from long on her way to 22 points in the game. She was also 6 of 7 from the field and 5 of 6 from the line. Dembek also grabbed 16 rebounds and had six assists for a double-double.
Freshman
Sammy McGree lit up the second half scoring 13 of her 15 points after the break. The Butte native went 3 of 4 from beyond the arc. She also had five rebounds.
The Warriors (1-1, 8-3) shot just 28.4 percent from the field as a team and had 5 of 23 makes from three.
Montana Tech heads to Idaho State in Pocatello for an exhibition game on December 18
th. They return to conference action in Lewiston against the Warriors again on January 2
nd.
