Digger Rewind

The Diggers, winners of their last three out of four games, are fresh off of their 52-45 upset over third-seed Carroll College Tuesday night in Helena.

Tech made good use of the charity stripe hitting 16 of their 17 free throws shooting 94.1 percent for the game. The Digger defense also limited Carroll to shoot just 29.8 percent from the field.

Senior Mandy Machinal led the Diggers with 16 points while Kabri Emerson and Callee Remsen added eight points each. Shayla Mack played a key role coming off the bench. The junior played locked-down defense and went 3-for-3 from the field for nine points.

Last Time Out

Friday night's game marks the third meeting between the two squads this year with Westminster being the victors of both contests. The most recently, Tech and Westminster played each other in Butte last week in the regular-season finale. After a slow start for both teams, the Griffins hit 13-of-24 (.542) from three-point range on their way to the 65-51 victory.

Post Season History

Since the 2003-04 season, this marks just the second time that the women's basketball team have advanced to the Frontier Conference semifinals. Last time the Diggers made it to the round was the 2010-11 season when they defeated Montana Western 90-83 in Butte.

Tech advanced to the NAIA National Tournament that year falling in the first round to No.1-seed Oklahoma City.

Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m. at the Behnken Field House. The winner will advance to the finals to face either second-seed MSU-Northern or fourth-seed University of Great Falls on Monday.
