BUTTE, Mont. – The Orediggers buried the Warriors in the conference home opener Saturday afternoon. Tech swept Lewis-Clark State 25-17, 26-24, 25-21.
Montana Tech (13-6, 1-1) picks up their first conference win. LC State (8-7, 1-1) drops their first conference game of the year.
The Orediggers dominated the first set totaling 14 kills while hitting 0.303 in the frame. Freshman

Sydney Norris each tallied four kills.
The beginning of the second set was dominated by Tech again leading by 9-2 early in the frame. LC State worked back into the game tying at 17-17. The set stayed close, but
Tech pulled away 26-24.
Jordan Danz led the Orediggers in the set completing 6 kills on 12 attacks and just one error.
After a slow start in the third, Tech rallied back tying the score at 15. The Oredigger would hold the lead for the rest of the set finishing the match at 25-21.
Norris led all Diggers with 11 kills on 0.296 hitting percentage. Danz had 10 kills and 13 digs.
Middle
Bailie Cortner added 8 kills with just two errors hitting 0.462 in the match.
Makenzie Bauck had 37 assists in the match.
Tech is on the road until late in October. The Orediggers start their road trip against Montana State Northern next Friday in Havre.
