CHANDLER— The Orediggers narrowly lost to No. 25 Arizona Christian in the final day of the Cactus Classic Wednesday night, 67-55.
The Orediggers played their best first half of the season and took a 28-22 lead into the halftime against the Firestorm. In the first half, The Diggers were sparked by six points from reserve guard
Cale Jacobsen.
The Orediggers shot 40 percent from the field in the contest and were 5-of-11 from downtown.
The Diggers took the lead 51-49 with six minutes to play but struggled to score in the down the stretch. Montana Tech was led by a trio of double-digit scorers in
Chris O'Neill (13),
John Chapman (12), and
Lukas Vining (10). Chapman was 3-for-6 from downtown for the Diggers.
Flemming Okeke led the Diggers with seven boards while Vining and
Carson Dummer snagged six caroms apiece.
Montana Tech completes their pre-Christmas schedule with an exhibition against Utah Valley on Friday afternoon.
