BUTTE, Mont. – The Argos Jarred Burr hit a three-pointer as time expired stealing the victory from the Orediggers 61-60.
Montana Tech trailed 22-20 going into halftime but took the on a
Flemming Okeke field goal 24-22 early in the second half. The Orediggers held the lead throughout the second frame, but could not quite put the game away.
Tech led by five with 1:38 to play. Jared Schultz hit a three pointer with 42 second left to pull within two 60-58. After a missed shot on the Oredigger possession, the
Argos drove the ball down court. A failed three by Schultz was rebounded by Treyvon Bashir who passed the ball to Burr at the top of the key just outside the three
point line. Burr shot the ball with just a second on the clock.
The Orediggers shot 44.9 percent in the game and 4 of 8 from three.
Lukas Vining led the Diggers with 13 points.
Sadiq Inuwa grabbed eight of his 12 rebounds in the first half and finished with eight points.
Flemming Okeke had 11 points and four rebounds.
Isaac Howard led the Argos with 12 points. Schultz chipped in 11.
The Orediggers (6-5, 0-2) lose their second straight.
Montana Tech heads to Idaho State on December 16
th in an exhibition game.
