Box Score DILLON, Mont.-- The Montana Tech Orediggers fell to No. 8 Montana Western in Straugh Gymnasium Tuesday night 84-66.
The Diggers were only 7-for-25 from downtown and shot 39.7 percent from the floor for the contest.
Nick Fitts and Derrius Collins, both freshmen, led the Orediggers in scoring with 17 points. Fitts made five threes on the night and Collins came off the bench to go 8-for-12 from the floor and grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.
John Chapman added nine points.
Montana Tech received 52 points from the bench and scored 27 points off turnovers in the loss.
Marcus Payne led Western with 23 points.
The Diggers fall to 0-1 in conference play but hosts Lewis-Clark State on Saturday night at 7:30 P.M. on Kelvin Sampson Court.
