BUTTE, Mont. – The Orediggers showed crisp shooting from all over the floor defeating Nueta Hidatsa 101-63 in their first game of the Payne West Montana Tech Tip Off Classic.
Tech (3-0) shot 48.1 percent from the field and hit 13 of 26 from beyond the arc. The Orediggers also shot 10 of 12 from the free throw line.
The Orediggers used 15 offensive boards and 20 steals to hold a strong lead throughout the game.
Fourteen was the magic number with four Orediggers hitting the mark.
Monica Landdeck,
Kourtney Coverdell,
Sammy McGree and Mesa William all had 14 points in the game.
Both Coverdell and McGree shot 4 for 5 from three point range while Landdeck went 2 for 4.
Freshman Williams was 5 of 10 in the game and hit 2 of 3 from long. The White Sulphur Springs product also had 6 rebounds and 3 steals.
Shay Potter had eight points and 6 rebounds.
Despite the score, the Nueta still made 53.2 percent of their shots and were 6 of 13 from three.
Jess Hale had 15 points for the Storms. Tayla Belgarde and Shayla Gayton had 14 each.
Montana Tech faces Dickinson State tomorrow night in the night cap of the Payne West Montana Tech Tip Off.
