BUTTE, Mont. – The Oredigger women's basketball downed Dickinson State for their second win in the inaugural PayneWest Insurance Tip Off Classic 88-56.
Dickinson State kept the game close after the first frame trailing 15-13. Tech exploded in the next two outscoring Dickinson 55-32 in the second and third frames.
The Diggers scored 53 points from the bench led by guard
Sammy McGree with a team-high 15 points. The Butte native shot 5 of 9 from the field and went 4 for 6 from three.
Also off the bench,
Mesa Williams had 12 points hitting 5 of 7 from the field and went 2 for 3 from beyond the arc. The White Sulphur Springs product just missed the double-double grabbing 9 rebounds.
The Orediggers shot an efficient 43.2 percent in the game and 43.3 percent from three. Dickinson was outrebounded 48-31.
Monica Landdeck had 10 points hitting 2 for 4 from three.
Kourtney Coverdell added 9.
The Orediggers return to action on Kelvin Sampson Court this Tuesday when they host St. Thomas University (Fla.) at 7 p.m.
