Yotes Nip Diggers 64-35

CALDWELL, Idaho— A shorthanded Montana Tech football team fell to College of Idaho 64-35 at Simplot Stadium Saturday afternoon.

The Diggers, who were without starting quarterback Quinn McQueary and running back Jed Fike for almost all of the contest, were held to just 85 rushing yards in the loss to the Yotes.

Montana Tech redshirt freshman quarterback Davan Norris made the most of his first collegiate start passing for 357 yards and four touchdowns. Norris was an efficient 28-for-44 on the day and connected with seven different receivers.

Dion Williams led all receivers with 10 receptions for 100 yards and a score. Chris Kelly caught five passes for 80 yards and two scores. Chris LaChance also caught three passes for 73 yards and a touchdown. Sean Sullivan added six receptions for 67 yards.

Montana Tech falls to 6-3 overall and will host Southern Oregon Saturday afternoon for Senior Day. That game will kick off at noon on Bob Green Field.
