BUTTE- Montana Tech utilized a strong second half to defeat the University of Lethbridge Friday afternoon, 79-73.
The Diggers trailed 32-27 at the half before outscoring Lethbridge by five points in the third quarter and six points in the fourth quarter. Montana Tech shot 43.8 percent from the floor and just 34.5 percent from downtown in the victory. The Diggers collected an impressive 16 offensive rebounds in the contest.
Sammy McGree led all scorers with 15 points,
Kourtney Coverdell scored 13,
Shay Pottered tallied 12,
Monica Landdeck netted 11, and
Hannah Sparks scored 10 for the Diggers.
The Diggers had 22 assists on 32 made baskets and out-rebounded the Pronghorns 39-to-34.
Montana Tech improves to 9-4 overall and returns to conference action this Thursday when they host MSU-Northern at 5:30 p.m. at Kelvin Sampson Court.
