BUTTE, Mont. – The Oredigger volleyball team started hot in First Round action of the Frontier Conference Tournament sweeping Montana Western 25-8, 25-10, 25-20.

Montana Tech (15-12) breezed through the first two sets combining for 30 kills and just five errors. The Orediggers went on to finish with 44 kills and a team hitting percentage of .288.

Heather Thompson led the attack from the middle with 13 kills and just two errors hitting .611 in the match.

Karina Mickelson had 10 kills hitting .231.

Masha Korol and Kacee James chipped in seven kills each.

Hanna Liss ran the offense with 23 assists and an ace.

Sabrina Hopcroft had 15 digs.

The Frontier Conference Tournament continues tomorrow with the Semifinals getting underway at 11 a.m. The Orediggers face the University of Providence at 1 p.m.
