Chris O'Neill and
Trent Molesworth's big night wasn't enough as the Diggers lost a tight contest to MSU-Northern 80-74 on Kelvin Sampson Court.
O'Neill tallied 24 points on an impressive 10-for-19 shooting night while grabbing six rebounds and dishing out four assists. Molesworth scored a career-high 20 points on 8-of-10 shooting from the floor. The big man was a smooth 4-for-5 from three point land.
The Diggers trailed Northern by 15 points at the half, 41-26 before coming back to cut the ballgame to a single-possession with just minutes remaining.
The Diggers shot 50.8 percent from the floor and 81.8 percent at the line in the loss.
Northern was led by Ryan Reeves who had a double-double with 18 points and 16 rebounds.
