GREAT FALLS, Mont. - The Orediggers finished the Best Western Heritage Plus Fall Classic with a 3-1 victory over Mayville State Saturday morning. Montana Tech downed Mayville 15-25, 25-19, 25-19, 26-24.

After a slow start in first set, Tech hit just .059 in the frame, the Orediggers came back to finish with a .206 hitting percentage. Tech outhit Mayville 58-44.

Heather Thompson had 20 kills hitting a staggering .548.

Masha Korol had 14 kills and Karina Mickelson chipped in 11.

Montana Tech opens the Frontier Conference season next week against the University of Providence on Thursday at the Butte Civic Center.
