Montana Tech Drops to No. 20 in Coaches Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the fifth edition of the Coaches Top 25 Poll today. Montana Tech dropped one spot to No. 20 in the latest national poll.

The Orediggers (4-2) lost a heartbreaker to now-No. 7 College of Idaho (6-0) 16-14 in Caldwell, Idaho over the weekend. The Yotes hit a Frontier Conference record 58-yard field goal as time expired in the victory. Montana Tech's only two losses this season have come at the hands of the Yotes. College of Idaho moved one spot up from No. 8.

Montana Western (4-2) lost their second straight game falling to Carroll College 33-29 in the final minute. The Bulldogs dropped two spots. in the poll to No. 24.

Morningside (Iowa) held their top spot and all 17 first place votes once again. The rest of the Top 25 saw the most movement of the 2019 season. No. 14 Benedictine dropped nine from No. 5 after losing their second game of the season. Concordia (Mich.) lost their second straight game and fell from No. 10 to No. 16. No. 16 Evangel (Mo.) and No. 12 Keiser (Fla.) jumped six spots after upset victories over the weekend.

Montana Tech hosts Eastern Oregon (2-5, Frontier 2-4) this weekend on Bob Green Field.
