WHITEFISH, Mont. – The Montana Tech volleyball team finished with five-straight conference victories and were named a Frontier Conference Co-Champion today. The No. 17 Orediggers finished the Frontier Conference season with a 9-3 record and enter the conference tournament as the No. 1 seed.
The Orediggers (24-6, 9-3) earned their third Frontier Conference championship under eighth-year head coach
Brian Solomon. The Orediggers won their last regular season title in 2017. The University of Providence (21-6, 9-3) finished with the same conference record as the Orediggers sharing the conference title. The Orediggers won the tie-breaker receiving the top seed next weekend. The Argos received the second seed.
The winner of the conference tournament receives an automatic bid to the final site for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Women's Volleyball National Championship in Sioux Falls, Iowa.
Providence hosts the Frontier Conference Tournament starting Friday. With the top seed, Montana Tech does not take the court until Saturday when they face the lowest seed left after the first round. The Orediggers start the post season Saturday at 1 p.m. at the McLaughlin Center.
