Poll Position—The Orediggers dropped from No. 17 to 23 in the latest NAIA Coaches Top 25 Poll. While the post season is now out of reach, polling well is still crucial this time of year. Any team hoping to stay ranked in the postseason and next year's preseason poll needs to keep winning.

Slinging the Rock—Quarterback Jet Campbell had his biggest passing game of the season last week against Carroll College. The redshirt sophomore had a season high 306 yards passing completing 18-of-30 for a 60% completion rate. Campbell connected with Trevor Hoffman for a 49-yard  score and his 10th passing touchdown of the season.

A Very Big Year—Senior linebacker Carter Myers is turning in the best performance of his college career and for the Oredigger defense this season. Myers had 12 tackles last Saturday and a sack against the Saints. Pulling down the Saints quarterback is no easy feat as it was just their 7th sack given up of the season. Currently, Myers is 4th in the Frontier Conference in tackles (81) and tackles per game (9.0). The Cody, Wyoming native leads the league in tackles for loss (14.0) and sacks (6.5). Myers has 3 interceptions on the season which is 1 back of the conference leader.  Myers has been a contributor all four seasons with the Orediggers, but he has nearly doubled the number of tackles this season over last, tripled his sacks and has nearly 5 times the number of tackles for a loss.

Little of This, And a Lot of That—The Orediggers defense snagged two more picks last weekend bringing the season total to 12 on the year. Matthew Drake snagged a one-handed interception in the first half and Teddy Croft picked a pass in the second half. Special teams also got in on the turnover game when Jase Galt grabbed a muffed punt for the third takeaway of the game. The Tech offense also has the fewest turnovers of any team in the Frontier with just 7 on the season. The Orediggers now have a turnover margin of +12 on the season and average +1.3 per game.

Top Defense—Not just the top defense in the Frontier, the Orediggers rank in the NAIA Top 10  in Pass Defense Efficiency (5th), Scoring Defense per Game (9th) and Opponent First Downs (139). Tech leads the league in Scoring Defense (14.9), Total Defense (281.9), Pass Defense (167.3), and Opponent 3rd Down Conversions (30%).

Top Performance—Sophomore wide receiver Trevor Hoffman had his best performance of the season against Carroll. Hoffman caught 8 passes for a career high 190 yards and a touchdown. Hoffman has broken the 100-yard mark 4 times this season and has 910 yards on the year. Hoffman is pacing himself to be just the 4th wide receiver to break the 1,000 mark in Oredigger history.

Senior Pride—The Oredigger faithful say goodbye to another great group of seniors. The senior class will be honored just before the national anthem Saturday. The list of 15 seniors are: WR Ontario Johnson, DB Tanner Chase, WR Sam McCamley, DB Tucker Rauthe, RB Jed Fike, RB Grant Kingston, DB Demaree Morris, RB Braden Fiesthamel, LB Ike Schweikert, LB Carter Myers, LB Jacob Clarke, OL Grant Benz, OL Hayden Smith, WR Reid Nelson, and DL Arthur Flynn.

Comparing Counts—True Freshman Blake Counts has 781 yds on 174 attempts and 8 touchdowns averaging 84.9 yds/gm this season. Comparing Counts to 2 other true freshman is in order. In Pat Hansen's freshman year, he rushed 270 times for 1,383 yds and 12 TDs. Hansen averaged 125.7 yds/gm in 11 contests. Jay LeProwse's freshman season yielded 861 yds on 194 carries and 11 TDs. Le Prowse averaged 86.1yds per game.
