BUTTE, Mont. -The Montana Tech women's basketball team started strong and finished stronger defeating Yellowstone Christian on Tuesday night at Kelvin Sampson Court, 98-37.
The Orediggers shot a whopping 62.1% from the floor and 50% from three point territory in the victory. Montana Tech held the Centurions to just 24.6% shooting in the contest. The Diggers forced YCC into 15 turnovers.
Montana Tech's offensive attack was led by
Mesa Williams who scored a game-high 20 points to lead five Orediggers in double figures.
Tavia Rooney notched another double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds while
Dani Urick and
Kaylee Zard each tallied 13 points. Brook Heggie finished the game 5-for-6 from the floor on her way to 10 points while
Mollie Peoples chipped in nine points.
The Orediggers picked up their eighth victory in a row against non-Division-I opponents and will be able to rest their legs after playing four games over three days. Montana Tech returns to the floor on Dec. 3rd when they play Frontier Conference rival Carroll College in Helena. That game will tip off at 5:30 p.m.
