HELENA, Mont.- The Montana Tech Orediggers lost a tough contest to rival Carroll College on Saturday afternoon at Nelson Stadium, 30-19.
The Orediggers trailed Carroll College at the half 14-6 after a slow start offensively. The Orediggers climbed back into the contest in the third quarter when scoring a pair of touchdowns but the Saints extended their lead in the fourth quarter scoring twice more.Â
Montana Tech's
Carter Myers had a biggest day of anyone defensively registering 12 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, one sack, and a pass breakup.
Jacob Clarke added 10 tackles while
Teddy Croft and
Matthew Drake each picked off a Saint pass attempt.
Offensively,
Jet Campbell threw for 293 yards and a touchdown while also running one in. The sophomore went 18-for-32 through the air and found receiver
Trevor Hoffman for the lone passing score. Hoffman finished the game with eight receptions for 184 yards and a touchdown.
Blake Counts rushed 20 times for 55 yards and a score while
Tyler Folkes carried the ball seven times for 34 yards.
Montana Tech falls to 6-3 overall and play hosts to Rocky Mountain College next Saturday on Bob Green Field at 1 p.m.
