Offense, Defense Shine as Oredigger Roll Mountaineers 35-10

LA GRANDE, Oregon – The Montana Tech offense was rolling and the Oredigger defense was stout in a convincing 35-10 win on the road against Eastern Oregon.

Jet Campbell connected with tight end Nate Sander on a five-yard pass to complete a 68-yard opening drive for a touchdown. The Orediggers didn't look back the rest of the game.

Jed Fike scored two of his three touchdowns in the first half crossing the goal line from 3 and 29 yards. The senior running back finished the day with 169 yards on 29 carries averaging 5.8 yard per touch.

The Orediggers rushed for 235 yards on 53 attempts. True freshman Blake Counts had 30 yards on 9 carries and Tyler Folkes added 21 yards on 8 touches.

The Mountaineers hit a field 23-yard field goal at the end of the second quarter to trail 21-3 going into the locker room.

Campbell connected with Trevor Hoffman on a 59-yard touchdown pass in the second half extending the Tech lead to 35-3 in the fourth quarter.

Eastern scored their loan touchdown of the day when Joey Aliff finished off a 79-yard drive late in the fourth.

Campbell finished the day 9 of 16 with 168 yards and two touchdowns.

The Oredigger defense continually put the ball back in the offenses hands. Sophomores Teddy Croft and Jake Orvis each had an interception. Orvis also broke up three
passes.

Ike Schweikert returned a fumble 39 yards in the second quarter stopping an Eastern Oregon drive. Justin May also jumped on a loose ball from the Mountaineers.

Logan Kolodejchuk led the Orediggers with 10 tackles and Naoki Harmer had 8 on the day including six solo stops.

Montana Tech (1-1) returns home next weekend when they host the Southern Oregon (0-3) Raiders on Hall of Fame Weekend.
