HAVRE, Mont.- The Orediggers are in the win column again after coming back from a 16 point deficit at halftime, 62-55.
"I am so proud of this team, they never gave up and fought back," said Montana Tech head coach
Carly Sanon. "It was a huge team win."
Montana Tech's victory was partly due to the Orediggers outscoring No. 18 MSU-Northern 20-8 in the third quarter and 24-13 in the fourth. The Orediggers shot 63% in the second half in their comeback.
"Our senior,
Kaylee Zard played hard and helped lead the comeback with her hustle and energy!"
Zard was one of three double-digit scorers for the Orediggers as Zard scored 13 points,
Tavia Rooney added 13 points and 11 rebounds, and
Mesa Williams who scored 12 points.
MSU-Northern, who shot 42.3% for the game and 39% in the second half, was led in scoring by Peyton Kehr who had 16.
Montana Tech improves to 12-10 overall and 2-8 in conference play with the win. The Diggers get back in action against Carroll College in Helena on Wednesday night.
