DILLON, Mont.- Montana Western's timely baskets proved to be the difference on Thursday night as Montana Tech fell to the Dawgs, 68-62.
The Orediggers (14-15, 4-13 Conf.) led Western 21-16 at the end of the first quarter and 31-28 at the half.
Montana Tech was led in scoring by
Dani Urick's 23 points while
Tavia Rooney added 19 points and 18 rebounds.
Mollie Peoples,
Celestina Faletoi, and
Kaylee Zard all scored 5 points while
Mesa Williams added 3 points and
Hailey Crawford added 2.
The Orediggers shot 46% from the floor while the Bulldogs shot 43.9%. Western knocked down three threes in the final 10 minutes after going 3-for-16 in the other three quarters.
Western was led in scoring by Savanna Bignell who scored 21 points.
The Orediggers travel to Billings to play Rocky on Saturday.
