Box Score HAVRE, Mont. – Montana Tech held off a late Montana State Northern rally for the victory 62-58.
The Orediggers led 37-31 at halftime and held a nine point advantage going into the fourth quarter. The Lights took a one point lead 59-57 with 1:36 to play after Peyton Kehr hit a field goal.
The Orediggers were able to hold on with the help of a pair of free throws from
Dani Urick with 19 seconds left in the game. Urick finished with 12 points and was perfect at the charity stripe going 6 for 6. She also had 4 rebounds and 2 assists.
Tia Faletoi led the Orediggers with 18 points and 8 rebounds.
Mesa Williams had 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists.
Brooke Heggie left the game in the first half with an injury, but had 10 points and 3 rebounds on 5 of 5 field goals.
The Orediggers shot 37.1 percent from the field and had just 7 turnovers in the game.
Kehr and Tiara Gillham had 13 points each for the Lights.
Montana Tech faces Montana State Northern again tomorrow in Havre.
