HAVRE, Mont.-
Cody Baumstarck's two free throws with .9 on the clock in overtime pushed the Diggers in front just in time as they defeated the Lights 71-69 in Havre on Sunday afternoon.
Baumstarck went to the line for the Diggers, who were trailing 69-68, after being fouled with under a second left and made both attempts to give Montana Tech the lead 70-68. Northern threw away the ensuing inbound pass and fouled
Sindou Diallo who made another trip to the stripe with .5 on the clock to boost Tech's lead to 71-69.
The Diggers (6-5, 6-3 Conf.) picked up their first win in the Armory Gymnasium since 2014. Montana Tech held a 33-26 halftime advantage before Northern came storming back to outscore the Diggers 34-27 in the second half and force overtime.
Montana Tech finished the afternoon shooting 45.1 percent from the floor and was 24-for-35 at the charity stripe. The Diggers held Northern to 34.8 percent shooting but the Lights made nine threes in the contest.
Markieth Brown Jr. led the Diggers with 18 points off the bench, while
Sindou Diallo scored 17.

Cody Baumstarck each had eight points while
Bridger Larson scored six,
Nate Ward added four, and
Cody Liles chipped in two.
Jomel Boyd led Northern with 21 points on 8-for-13 shooting.
The Diggers return to action this Saturday when they travel to Helena to take on the Carroll College.
