BUTTE, Mont.-
Taylor England returned to form on Saturday night as the Orediggers defeated the Bulldogs of Montana Western 88-78 at Kelvin Sampson Court.
England led the Diggers, who improved to 8-7 overall and 8-5 in Frontier Conference play, with 27 points on 9-for-14 shooting and a 9-for-10 mark at the free throw line. England had a near double-double with nine rebounds which led all players.
England wasn't the only player to fill up the scoring column as Markeith Brown Jr. added 22 points and went 11-for-12 at the line.
Sindou Diallo finished 6-for-8 from the field for 15 points, six rebounds, and three assists.
Derrius Collins added 12 points included the first six of the contest,
Cody Baumstarck had six while
Nate Ward and
Drew Huse chipped in three.
The Diggers finished the night shooting 49.1 percent from the floor, 35.3 percent from thee, and 78.8% at the foul line. The Orediggers efficiency is credited to their continuous attacking of the paint where they scored 38 of their points.
The Bulldogs wre led by Jamal Stephenson's 19 points and finished the game shooting 37.3 percent from the floor.
The Diggers have now won eight of the last nine games against Western. Montana Tech will take their five game winning streak against the Bulldogs into tomorrow's matchup at 4 p.m.
