BUTTE, Mont.- The Orediggers fell to Southeastern University 78-65 in their nonconference home opening game at Kelvin Sampson Court.
Montana Tech (0-1) was led in scoring by
Dani Urick who scored 17 points on 6-of-13 shooting and a 4-for-7 effort from downtown.
Mollie Peoples added 12 points to finish in double figures for the Orediggers.
Montana Tech shot 48.0% from the floor and 50.0% from three point land in the loss. The Fire of Southeastern University finished the contest shooting 45.9% from the floor and were 14-for-16 from the free throw line.
Southeastern University was led in scoring by Angela Perry who registered 24 points on 10-for-18 shooting in the post. Gabby Suarez added 16 points off the bench and Marta Aranda scored 14 points.
The Diggers return to action against Viterbo University next Sunday at 2 p.m. at Kelvin Sampson Court.
