BILLINGS, Mont. – Montana Tech never trailed and held off a late Rocky rally to win their second straight conference game 76-68.
The Orediggers (9-2, 2-0) controlled the game and led by as many as 12 in the second half. The Battlin' Bears tried to rally late pulling within six with 1:46 to go but could not get any closer.
Tech shot an impressive 51.9% from the field and hit 8 of 20 from beyond the arc.
Caleb Bellach had a season high 28 points going 10 for 15 from the field and 4 for 7 from long. Bellach also had seven rebounds.
Sindou Diallo went 6 for 9 finishing with 15 points and two assists.
Drew Huse had eight points,
Derrius Collins had seven, and
Bridger Larson added seven from the bench.
Maxim Stephens led the Bears with 18 points and 16 rebounds.
The Orediggers are in North Dakota next weekend taking on Dickinson State.
