GREAT FALLS, Mont. – Montana Tech women's basketball could not keep up against Providence falling 70-54.
Battling their third straight NAIA Top 25 Coaches' Poll opponent, Tech (11-13, 2-7) drops their third straight. The Argos are ranked No. 16 in the latest national poll.
The Orediggers trailed 27-22 at halftime. The Argos padded their lead down the stretch.
Tech shot 39.1% from the field but committed 18 turnovers to just seven by Providence.
Brooke Heggie led the Orediggers with 13 points and
Celestina Faletoi had 10 coming off the bench. Both finished with five rebounds.
Ally Cleverly finished with nine points.
Emilee Maldonado and Parker Esary scored more than half of the Argos points as both finished with 20. Esary completed the double-double finishing with 11 rebounds.
The Orediggers return home to host Montana State Northern Saturday.
