BUTTE, Mont. – Montana State Northern rallied in the final quarter to pull ahead of Montana Tech 70-63.
The Orediggers (11-14, 2-8) lose their second meeting against the Skylights after defeating them in Havre earlier this month.
Tech led 49-45 going into the final frame. The Skylights outscored the Orediggers 13-5 in the final three minutes.
The Orediggers had their lowest production in the final quarter shooting just 23.5% from the field. Tech finished shooting 39% in the game.
The Skylights shot 49.1% from the field in the game and outrebounded the Orediggers 35-25.
Tavia Rooney led the Orediggers with 14 points and had seven rebounds.
Mollie Peoples had 12 points and hit 4 of 7 from deep.
Brooke Heggie had 11 points and three rebounds.
Peyton Kehr led the Skylights with 20 points. Shyan Krass and L'Tia Lawrence had 15 points apiece.
Montana Tech hits the road next week when they travel to Montana Western Friday and Rocky Mountain Saturday.
