Box Score DILLON, Mont. – Montana Tech wrapped up the Montana Western Classic with their second win downing Dickinson State 76-68.
The Orediggers improved to 5-0 on the young season fending off the Blue Hawks (1-6) led by former Tech assistant coach Derek Selvig.
The teams traded leads in the first half before Tech went ahead 40-37 on a
Keeley Bake three-pointer at the break. The Orediggers went 7 of 14 from three point range in the first half and finished the game with a 50% shooting percentage from long.
Dickinson shot 46.4% from the field in the first half but cooled down in the second hitting 35.3% of their shots after halftime. The Blue Hawks went 6 of 15 from long in the first and finished going 10 of 29 in the game.
Caleb Bellach had 17 points going 3 for 6 from three and 7 for 16 from the field. Bellach finished with seven rebounds and five assists.
Michael Ure also had 17 points and finished with his third straight double-double with 10 boards.
Bake didn't miss a shot with nine points on the night going 2 for 2 from the field and 4 for 4 from the free throw line.
Chrishon Dixon had 13 points, five rebounds, and four assists. Dixon went 5 for 9 from the field.
Trey Hladky was the only Blue Hawk hitting double-digits with 13 points. Hladky went 5 for 10 from the field and had five rebounds.
Montana Tech faces Lewis-Clark State next weekend at home for the Montana Tech Classic on Friday before a rematch with Dickinson State Saturday.
