LEWISTON, Idaho – Montana Tech women's basketball rallied back in the final minutes but came up just short against Lewis-Clark State 64-56.
The Warriors (3-1) built a ten-point lead in the first quarter but the Orediggers (1-2) cut the lead to 24-23 at halftime.
The Orediggers were in a similar position going into the fourth quarter down 49-37. Not giving up, Tech worked their way back into the game. The Orediggers came within three points of the Warriors twice in the final minutes, but the free throws made the difference in the end.
Tech had their best shooting on the night in the fourth quarter going 7 for 14 from the field and 3 of 8 from three point range. The Orediggers finishing shooting 34% in the game.
The Warriors took advantage on the boards outrebounding the Orediggers 50-39 led by Maddie Holm who finished with 17 rebounds. Holm finished with a double-double with 17 points.
Tavia Rooney led the Orediggers with 19 points and 10 rebounds for her first double-double of the season. Rooney shot 50% from the field and had a pair of blocks.
Dani Uriuck went 4 for 10 from beyond the arc and finished with 17 points and four rebounds.
Aubri Rademacher had 12 points and five rebounds.
Hannah Broyles led all scorers with 21 points. Callie Stevens added 15 points and six assists for the Warriors.
Montana Tech finishes their road trip tomorrow against Walla Walla.
