HELENA, Mont. – Montana Tech Women's Basketball held an early lead but fell to No. 7 Carroll College 76-59.
The Orediggers (12-16, 3-10) led 19-16 after the first quarter, but the Saints took back the lead with a narrow 34-33 score going into the break. The Saints shot the lights out in the second half shooting 20 of 31 from the field to take the victory.
The Saints outrebounded the Orediggers 35-20.
Tavia Rooney led the Orediggers with 20 points and seven rebounds. Rooney also had three assists and three steals on the night.
Ally Cleverly hit 4 of 5 from deep and finished with 14 points and six assists.
Celestina Faletoi had 10 points and
Dani Urick had nine.
Kamden Hilborn had 17 points. Jamie Pickens finished with 14 and Maddie Geritz had 13.
Montana returns home Saturday when they host Providence.
