BUTTE, Mont. – No. 16 Providence hit 17 three pointers on the way to an 87-69 victory over Montana Tech.
Both teams were lighting up the basket, but the Argos had the hotter hand. The Argos finished shooting 46.7% from the field and hit 17 of 26 from long.
Tech shot 41% in the game and hit 6 of 13 from beyond the arc. The Orediggers hit 13 of 14 from the free throw line.
Brooke Heggie led the Orediggers with 12 points and seven rebounds.
Mollie Peoples went 3 for 4 from long and finished with 11 points.
Dani Urick had 11 points.
Tavia Rooney had 11 points and nine rebounds.
Celestina Faletoi had 10 points and five rebounds.
Brooklyn Harn led the Argos with 20 points going 6 for 9 from three point range.
Emilee Maldonado had 19 points. Parker Esary had a double-double finishing with 12 points and 13 boards.
Montana Tech hosts their final regular season game next Thursday against Montana State Northern.
